Hi-Tec Adventure Quest

International Adventurers to race in South Africa

15th June 2002

The still un-sponsored team of International Adventurers, with members from UK, Guatemala, USA (San Francisco, New York), Cyprus and South Africa are making final preparation for their first race of the season. The team will met up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and travel overland into the Eastern Cape for the start of the 2002 Hi-Tec Adventure Quest. The race involves mixed sex teams competing with, mountain bikes, inflatable kayaks, swimming, trekking, climbing and abseiling. The course is some 500K and begins on 13th July.

According to Kristel the team is in good spirits – “We expect is to be a beautiful, hard, challenging race.  We are looking forward to getting to know South Africa, its landscapes, its people, and its adventure racing team. This is going to be a tough race with good teams, all the makings for a superb event. I really hope it is not too cold since I am not much of a cold race person!”
